Win2D currently ships under the Apache 2.0 license. This has served us well so far, but we are now considering switching over to the MIT license. We plan to do this with our v1 release, which will ship around Windows 10’s public release at the end of July.
We’ve had some requests to make this change, and the switch makes sense to our team. For most people this change shouldn’t make any difference: both licenses are permissive and broadly similar. But we’d like to hear from you if you have reasons why we should stick with Apache 2.0. Please let us know by responding to this post or filing an issue on GitHub.
