We’ve confirmed that all systems are back to normal with no customer impact as of 11 November 2015 ~02:09 UTC. Our logs show that users should no longer be facing any access failures while logging on to Visual Studio Online. The root cause has been attributed to a deployment with one of our dependent services that was rolled back as a mitigation.
We understand that customers rely on VS Online as a critical service and sincerely apologize for any impact this incident caused.

We are currently experiencing intermittent access failures while authenticating with login.microsoftonline.com.
We are working with our partners in Azure Active Directory to investigate this further and we will provide an update shortly.
Customer Impact: Users will not be able to authenticate to visualsudio.com from the IDE or the browser using their Azure Active Directory credentials at this time.
