Why do you want to join the ALM Rangers?
I want to contribute to some of the helpful tools/processes I’ve used over the years. Plus I feel like the more involved I am on projects the more I will learn why certain decisions and directions were taken.
Who you are?
A book reading/computing loving/movie buff nerd. I’ve been in the software development world in one capacity or another for over 10 years. I started out doing development work and really enjoyed it. As I progressed I started to really study and explore the other aspects of the SDLC. I thought that writing code was the end of the process…boy was I wrong. As I started moving to other companies I noticed that oftentimes the Build/Deploy/Test cycle did not get its due. It was something done because you “have to”. The more I learned about this aspect of developing the more excited I got. I’ve felt like being in the ALM world ever since is something I “get to do”. I don’t take it for granted and enjoying meeting challenges with a wide variety of skills.
What makes you “tick”?
It’s probably cliché but my family. Without my wife and two wonderful kids I would be lost and in a far different place I am sure. I feel truly blessed to have a great and supportive family and a career I am truly passionate about. Oh…and pizza.
Where you live?
I live in Atlanta Ga, former FL lifelong resident. The traffic sucks and there is no real “beaches” but it’s a great place to live and work.
Why are you active in the Rangers program?
I am not currently active in the Ranger program but I want to be. I would love to work with my peers and learn everything I can in order to become a better consultant and person. I’ve had the honor of working with some high-caliber folks and it has made me grow professionally. Plus I want an awesome T-Shirt if we’re being honest.
What is the best Rangers project you worked in and why?
I’ve never worked on a Rangers project but I have used the TFS Integration Platform and the Branching/Merging Guide. One of these was very helpful and one of my “go to” resources. The other was an….interesting experience.
This post is part of an ongoing series of Rangers introductions. SeeRanger Index (Who is Who?)for more details.
