Combining the familiarity and traditional uses of a digital whiteboard with the same full Windows experience that Surface users are accustomed to, the Surface Hub with its superior inking capabilities and range of applications is broadening the horizon of what is possible - and expected - in the classroom.

Surface Hub - collaboration

Surface Hub has been available to order since the start of July, and to help educators and IT staff to fully understand the benefits of this new addition to the Surface family we've started running a series of sessions for educators, allowing them to experience first-hand all that this ground-breaking collaboration device has to offer.

Featuring presentations from the team at Microsoft as well as customer stories from Showcase Schools, the event covers the following areas:

  • Windows 10 product briefing (platform, apps), and licensing
  • Office 365 product briefing, licensing, and offers
  • EMS product briefing, licensing, and offers
  • Surface 3 and Surface Hub Product Briefing
  • OneNote Class Notebook
  • Digital Classroom Case Study

More of these sessions will be held in the coming months, and to register your interest or for further information, please contact your account manager.

Speaking to attendees of previous sessions, one of the main things that impressed them on the day was the smoothness of the inking and the overall versatility of the Surface Hub, with many remarking that they can see it replacing a whole range of different technologies in the classroom. No longer do they envisage a need for separate projectors, video conferencing equipment and smartboards - the Surface Hub has all this and more. For others, the fact that it is built by Microsoft gives them the reassurance that it will work seamlessly in their existing Office 365 environment, with everything written on the board using OneNote able to be instantly shared with students and other teachers.

If you’ve been to one of our sessions or have used a Surface Hub please share your thoughts in the comments below.
