Melbourne (Australia) 10 February 2016– In January Australian tech startup Gooroo (www.gooroo.io) secured Microsoft Corporation as a partner, announcing a global alliance that has already started to see the international Microsoft’s Certified Professional (MCP) community take advantage of the platform’s innovative career planning and intelligent job matching tools.

Gooroo launched in early 2015 and has experienced rapid growth of its member base over the past 12 months. In the first two weeks since launch, Gooroo's membership grew by 50%, with sign-ups accelerating at a rate 10 times previous levels.

As part of this partnership, Gooroo is offering the MCP community 12 months free premium access, plus immediate elevation to Ambassador status, acknowledging the skills they've developed.

“We're excited that millions of Microsoft professionals will be getting access to our premium level tools, and will receive special recognition of their MCP and MVP status on the Gooroo platform,” says Gooroo CEO & Founder Greg Muller. “We see this partnership as a validation of what we already knew; that Gooroo is a unique and valuable service that changes the way we identify opportunities, build our personal brand and make important career choices."

Microsoft’s MCP/MCT Program Manager, Patrick Thomas agrees, reiterating the company’s belief in the value of education and community in the development of a tech career, and believes this partnership with Gooroo will see members of their Certified Professional Community benefit from a platform at the forefront of tech career management.

“Gooroo’s job matching capabilities are super impressive and will mean that our community will be well supported in how they identify the opportunities they want,” says Mr Thomas. “Gooroo’s analytics platform also helps our community make important decisions about the right career pathways and training for them based on their individual skills and ambitions.”

Gooroo has also teamed up with leading training providers from around the world to connect members with courses to progress their careers based on a personalised skills analysis, used to identify their skills gaps.

“Our big data and artificial intelligence platform represents the future in how individuals get the work they want to do,” says Mr Muller. “We've built a totally personalized experience that adapts to each individual's skills and goals. It's all about eliminating time and being connected to the right opportunity. And yes, we will have some exciting news for employers soon too.”

Up until the announcement, Gooroo has grown largely through word of mouth and is currently free for all users. With 120 million tech professionals and over 25 million jobs posted every year, Gooroo is positioned for impressive growth.

“I encourage all tech pros (and emerging tech pros) to get in now to try it for themselves and to tell us what they want.” says Mr Muller. “Our community has been instrumental in shaping the service we have now. Continual feedback is what’s going to make this product fundamental to lives of our members.”

“Artificial intelligence & cognitive systems are now a reality. Gooroo has taken a lead position in using these to transform one of the world’s most lucrative and increasingly transient industries.

We’re really proud to be partnering with Microsoft and excited to be taking Gooroo to the global market,” Mr Muller concludes.

About GooroO

Gooroo (gooroo.io) is a big data and artificial intelligence platform that has set out to disrupt how tech pros connect to opportunity - addressing the massive inefficiency and cost in the hiring process.

To help solve what is a global issue, Gooroo has built a deep neural network and behavioural learning engine that is able to 'match' talent to companies. As users interact and the knowledgebase grows, the matching gets stronger and more intelligent.

For talent, this means better control and less time in the search process. For employers, Gooroo offers immediate access to qualified candidates; significantly reducing cost, time and error rate.

Gooroo ingests and analyses over 500,000 tech job ads each month across Australia, UK and USA. This has resulted in what is now a rich data repository which feeds the company's predictive job market models and analytics platform.

Gooroo has built an intelligent behavioural learning platform that uses complex neural networking to compatibility match an individual to a role. It does this across multiple skill and personality dimensions to deliver a faster, more accurate fit that anything else in the market. Gooroo’s big data system progressively learns based on what people do, making recommendations stronger and more valuable over time.

Gooroo members can now rank themselves against 500,000 new tech roles that are published each month across the USA, Great Britain and Australia.

All platform features are currently free for members. The site caters for graduates to experience professionals and tech industry leaders.

Gooroo plans to release its compatibility matching and shortlisting technology to hirers in the first half of this year, spearheading it commercial growth strategy. The company will soon be inviting employers and recruiters to participate in a pilot program.

Gooroo was founded in 2013 and is headquartered in Melbourne, Australia.
